A massive redeployment is about to take place at Fort Campbell and there are tools available to make the welcome home and reintegration process easier for everyone.

From the Fort Campbell Home Page, visitors can click on the Welcome Home link in the top left corner or go directly to http://www.campbell.army.mil/flight.

The site offers flight information, contact phone numbers and an informational video with everything there is to know about welcoming a Soldier home.

"All returning 101st Airborne Division Soldiers receive a Welcome Home Ceremony and families and friends are welcome to attend the ceremonies," said Leslie Burks, Emergency Operations Center, in the informational video.

To look up a specific ceremony contact the unit Family Readiness Group or Rear-detachment for the ceremony number information.

Family members that live off post should enter through Gate 7. Everyone without a vehicle registered on Fort Campbell must get a visitors pass at Gate 7. To get the pass you must have a current driver's license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance. Everyone over the age of 16 must have a valid photo ID.

"Drivers will approach Gate 7 and inform the gate guard they are there for a welcome home ceremony, and show the guard the documents. The guard will then issue the driver a pass," Burks said. "Ask the guard for a strip map of the 4th Brigade Combat Team parking area where you'll be put on a charter bus and brought to the hangar."

Family member parking for transportation to the ceremonies is at 4th BCT Family Marshall Area.

Family members to include those with child car seats are not to park at the hanger. Buses are available to transport family members safely.

"Flight arrival times listed on the Web site are tentative, and may change at any time," Burks said.

Plan to arrive at least two hours prior to the ceremony start time.

"Soldiers are coming home on contracted airlines. Those flight arrival times often change, based on weather, mechanical issues or a variety of other issues," Burks said. "If flights arrive early, the ceremonies will not be delayed to wait for the arrival of family members. Call your unit point of contact if you have questions or concerns."

Volunteers from the Association of the United States Army will be on site with free beverages and snacks.

There are bleachers inside the hangar, providing plenty of space to wait for the flight to arrive. Additionally, families will be allowed to go outside as the plane arrives and watch their Soldier deplane.

The Soldiers will then form up outside of the hangar giving family members time to sit in the bleachers before the ceremony begins.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Soldiers and families will spend about 20 minutes together in the hangar before the Soldiers must go back to their unit to turn in weapons and other sensitive items.

"During that time, families will be briefed on reintegration issues, and then returned to their vehicles with a strip map showing the location of their Soldier's unit area," Burks said.

Cameras, flags and banners are welcome. Balloons are permitted in the hangar, but they cannot be carried onto the flight line. Do not bring pets of any kind, weapons or alcohol.

All Soldiers are required to go through a seven, half-day reintegration process which will begin 12-24 hours after the Soldiers return home.

"The reintegration process is designed to help Soldiers adjust to life back with family and friends," Burks said. "These briefings provide Soldiers with tools to help them transition from life in a combat zone to living here at home. It's mandatory and important for all Soldiers."
